This blog is a thoughtful exploration of art and writing, delving beyond polished critiques to reveal the personal reflections, uncertainties, and insights that shape artistic discourse. It invites readers into a space where questions are valued over answers, and where the messy, vulnerable process of articulating one’s perspective is celebrated. Perfect for artists, thinkers, and curious minds alike, it offers an intimate yet intellectually rich conversation about the many ways art intersects with life and language.
I’m Lihi Shmuel, a writer, curator, and creative based in Berlin. I work across the fields of art and cultural practice, with a special love for stories that live between the personal and the collective. My background in Creative Industries Management meets hands-on experience in guiding, assisting, and co-creating art projects across Europe. I founded communipainting, a community-based initiative rooted in shared creation, and I often write curatorial texts, support artists behind the scenes, and help ideas take shape in thoughtful, sometimes unexpected ways. My work is driven by curiosity, vulnerability, and the belief that writing — like art — doesn’t always have to explain itself to be meaningful.
